Very Nice, well made 4/4 size violin. Montagnana copy, Violin is of German Orgin. One piece highly flamed maple back(beautiful) Spirit varnish. Violin is in mint condition, and about 6 years old. Only one owner. Tone is mellow,but very sweet and even on all strings. A good violin for an advanced player. I have a Joseph Richter bow,and bobelock case that I will consider selling with the instrument seperatley. Asking 1600. Serious inquiries only. Top is of a medium (1to2mm) grained spruce having no cracks or damage. The two-piece back is of medium arching,maple wood with a wide,prominent flame. (10-15 mm),the ribs are matching. The scroll is well carved of heavily flamed maple. Narrow black/white/black purfling on both top and back. The neck angle is correct and all measurements are modern and correct. The instrument is covered with a Honey brown oil varish on a modest yellow ground. The fittings are all ebony wood. This bow is Made in Brazil. It has an ebony frog and full nickel silver mounting with abolone slide and eye, the stick is octagonal and it has a leather thumb grip. Genuine horsehair. I looked these up on the internet and they sell for over $150. The wood is in beautiful condition and very new looking. Because of a slight bend in the stick I will sell for only $75 plus shipping.
