Full size violin made sometime in the 70's by German maker Anton Becker, label reads "Anton Becker copie Antonius Stradivarius Germany". This violin is in excellent condition, newly polished, only one small scratch near the chinrest. Mellow sound perfect for any level, but designed for advanced students/professionals. Beautiful violin by Vasile Gliga. It has a warm, carrying sound and is very responsive. New chin rest and Evah Pirazzi strings. Made of flamed maple with ebony fittings. Bow is a permanbuco stick with an ebony frog and mother of pearl eye. Case is a Concord and is fully adjustable to any size violin, with hygrometer and green velvet interior. Limited edition or custom, hand carved, maple, spruce top, ebony fittings. Full rich tone, w/strong focus overall, especially lovely upper range. Striking red finish, carefully handled all its life and reconditioned w/new Jaeger strings, bridge, sound bar in 2002. Professional grade hard shell case w/wheels, also soft case, floor strap, rosin included, but no bow, professionally shipped. Valued at $5000, will let go to appreciative cellist for $4000/bo.

15 3/4 inch viola, has a very short string length (just over 14 inches) and it's very easy to get around the shoulder. It was made in 1982 at the Paul Schubach violin shop in Portland, OR. It has new ebony tailpiece, chinrest, and pegs (fitted). I've had the bridge (new) and sound post (also new) adjusted by a professional (Kevin Smith). The viola also comes with a new Bam case (black, with back-pack straps and zipper pouch on the outside). It was appraised a few years ago at $6,500. I'm selling it because I recently bought a bigger viola (it was a better fit for me), but I love this little viola. Pics via email.

A good modern viola (41.5cm or 16 and 1/4"), made by Lev Strinkovsky and so labelled. Attractive two piece back, varnish of gold yellow colour. Made in Jerusalem in 1982. Includes certificate from maker. Excellent condition and sound. Asking price: $4800.
