This violin has no label, but was assured by the shop who restored it of its age. Had it double-checked by a well-known violin luthier that it is what they claimed. Excellent condition - Its label reads “Johann Hoffman-Geigenmacher” - dated 1909. It has a wonderful tone and produces good volume. There is a fine selection of wood - a fine grained spruce top and highly flamed back, sides, and neck - and it is blocked and lined. This violin has been professionally setup by a luthier who has been repairing violins for over 30 years. The fingerboard has been refitted and new pegs, bridge, sound post, ebony chinrest and a Wittner tail piece with built-in fine tuners have been added to this violin.
