Very good playing,sounding violin/fiddle for sale.Has label reads:John Bapt. Schweitzer 1813. Body measures 14 inches in lenghth.High arching,plain back nice varnish some older cracks that looks well repaired nothing around the sound post bass or bar area.Medium bright tone with good volume.Smallish neck suitable for smaller sized hands. Has a vintage bow not marked looks like its not permanbucco but older and rehaired recently.New Prim orchestra strings and a old Geib case in very good condition for its age.Currently set for folk style playing with 4 fine tuners.Will not ship overseas .Money orders only 950.00 and actual ship

This German violin is 150 years old, maker unknown. It is full-sized and comes with hard case. Nice warm brown finish, full throaty sound. If looking for a folk fiddle, this is it! Rare Collin-Mezin, hand made by a single craftsman. Golden brown to orange color, georgeous detailing: doubling purfling on both back and front, extra turn in scroll, antique sterling silver e-string tuner, no longer made. Extremely polished look, no blemished whatsoever, perfect condition, like new, rich, bright sound. Recently appraised at a Chicago violin shop for $7,000. Asking $5,000.
