Inside the violin is marked "Made in Germany". That dates is to pre-WWII as if it was made after it would say made in West Germany. Our luthiery states that this was made entirely by hand probably at the turn of the century. This is shown in the materials used particularly the pattern of the wood on the back. The sound is clear and the violin is easy to play. It has all new strings, bridge and chin rest. It was cleaned and polished. It is in excellent condition ready to play. This is a Chinese violin that was made in 2004. It is in excellent condition and the woodgrain is very beautiful. It has a good tone and it would be suitable for intermediate to advanced players. It will come with a nice half moon shaped case. Price is $400 plus shipping.
