16" Jackson-Guldan Viola-AMAZING sound! <prodigyNYC@gmail.com> - Brooklyn, NY USA - Monday, June 05, 2006
This viola, which measures slightly over 16", dates from the late 1930's, a German instrument imported by the Jackson-Guldan Company, which was the first large-scale string instrument importer in America. Orignally an intermediate level instrument, this viola has aged to become a phenomenal player, with an extremely rich, dark, velvety sound and is very comfortable to play. It is a beautiful red varnish on a golden ground, with a gorgeous boxwood chinrest. It is strung with Pirastro Aricores except the C, which is a Dominant, and I find that this combination blends wonderfully. Comes with a GREAT German bow and ProTec case.$2500/neg
