I have an old Hopf violin for sale. VGC and probably built in the teens or 20's. $550. No cracks. Slight flame. Stong tone. Set up with Pirastro Flexible Permanent strings. Good fiddle for bluegrass/oldtimey/country.

I am trying to find a buyer for a genuine Franceso Rugeri violin dated 1672 made in Cremona, Italy. Rugeri, like Antonio Stradivarius, was taught violin making by Niccolo Amati in the mid 1600's. It is my job to find a purchaser, whether that be a musician, collector, investor, bank or museum. I would rather sell this violin to an individual or foundation that will allow future violinists to use it for musical purposes. However, I must sell this violin to whoever or whatever will buy it. This violin is highly rated from elite orchetral players and soloists as a wonderful advanced, student, performance violin. it is "new", as of 2001, being made, however, with old wood, and a great italian varnish technique. this has nice overtones, and is fairly light in weight. one piece back. very nice set up. it is not how it looks, {it looks wonderful}, it is how it sounds. this will smoke a scott cao or a gliga, or any polish, czech, or modern american violin. there is no comparison, you have a real instument here, which will only get better w/playing. email for photos, details, thanks so much, delaine.
