Although it doesn't have a label, the luthier who set up the violn for me stated that he was very sure that the violin was German origin due to some characteristics. On the back of the scroll head, it was inscribed with a name and dated 1852. It sounds wonderful. The violin is made of one piece mapple and both the back and front are super fine grained. There is a samll area in between the two f holes losing its varnish, but no damage or cracks. There are also some scratches in the front and back, but overall, the violin is in very good condition.
