A full size German violin, about 80 years old, labeled "Johnn Hoffmann, Geigenmacher, Sachsen 4543". This instrument is in excellent shape with no cracks, nor hairlines. Recently set up and restored with newly fitted bassbar, new soundpost, ebony tailpiece, pegs, endpin with Parisian eye, and Aubert bridge. The finish is brown with lighter brown and yellow undertones. Top is fine grained spruce; two-piece back is nicely figured, neck is also nicely figured and the pegbox is in perfect shape. It has a new pernambuco full lined horsehair bow, dominant strings, and a new soft case. Photos ready. $25 insured shipping.

This Violin is a family heirloom dating back atleast 100 years. I believe it was brought over from Europe with my ancestors to the East Coast in the early 1900's.I have had an estimate done from a reputable Music shop and quote" It is a nicely made intstrument, with a well-aged, straight grain spruce top, highly flamed matched back, sides and neck."
