This full size violin has antique value and was appraised for over $10,000 in 2003. I'm a conservatory violin performance major and I have played this violin during my time in the conservatory. This violin has a superb tone, it's very loud and brilliantly powerful in the upper registries and dark powerful loud lower registries, an absolute solo quality violin. The label reads "Mathias Thir in Wien, Unno 1785" with the '85 handwritten. This is a very old violin and has been taken care of very well. Asking for $8,000 or best offer.
