Violin <caedric@artlearn.net> - Armidale, N.S.W. Australia - Wednesday, June 09, 2004

This is a very beautiful violin, I have been told that it was probably made in the 19th century in East Germany, but there are no markings to confirm it. The violin was owned by the “ELITE ORCHESTER” in Markneukirchen East Germany. The man I bought this violin off inherited it from his father in-law, who had bought it from the orchestra when it closed. As far as I know this violin has not been out of Europe, apart from in the last 6 months. There is a stamp on it that says (imported by British American trading co.).the violin is 3000euros and I can ship it any where in the world. It has a very beautifully carved head of a man for th

4/4 excellent German handmade violin <alex@iocc.com> - Arkadelphia, Ar USA - Monday, June 07, 2004

I used this violin to earn me the top music scholarship given at my college and I used it as the Assistant Concertmaster of the Arkansas Youth Symphony. It is excellent in sound and quality. It appraised in 1986 for $2500. I am willing to sell it for $2000. It does not come with a case or a bow. I have the official appraisal from Bearden's Music Company in St. Louis, Misouri. The inside tag reads "Staatliche Fachschule fur Geigenbau Mittenwald." The year is 1986 and it has a /3160 after it. This was made by a maker at a German school with a master craftsman. New strings. Very small, very minor scratch on back. Pictures upon request.
