4/4 antique Stainer violin, about 80+ (guess) years old, label "Jacobus Stainer in A.b.fam, prope Oenipontum 1739". There is also "Stainer" in the back of the violin near neck. There are no crackes or repaires. The sound is mature, mellon, sweet and resonance. There is a new set German "Pirastro Tonica" professional string just installed. Bow/case included. A very nice German bow branded Lupot. It weighs 63 grams. It is round with silver wrapping and a solid silver button. It is slightly heavier at the tip than at the frog as with most bows, and therefore, the bounce is slightly higher up than usual. It has a very nice balance. The hair on it is old and needs replacing. $850.00.
