I give up - I can't get an off-the-shelf case for my high-arched violin. Looking for cheap or free newer case to tear apart to see how they are made and to strip for parts. Can't bring myself to by a $2 violin just for the case. Can't thow the violin away or give away something like that, either. Would like to try my hand at it before I shell out $1000 for a custom case. Looking for oblong hardshell of any size.

Exc. condition, a few minor scratches and edge wear. Exc. spirit varnish; solid ebony fingerboard, tailpiece, saddle, nut. Pegs hold very well. Restrung with Dominant strings and soundpost just reset - produces a rich warm tone. Projects well for solos. With wolf brand shoulder rest, decent brazilwood bow. Case in fair condition - edge wear and stains in grey canvas cover. 4 bow spinners, brackets for string tube (tube missing). Good red velour but velcro closures have separated from backing (still works). Provides good protection. Lists for over $1900 new. Free US shipping. ASKING $750

This J. Balaton 15" student viola is in great condition and has a beautiful tone and Dominant strings. Polyethylene case is indestructible and provides exceptional protection for a student on the go. This beautiful honey colored and lightly grained German violin was handmade by Otto Glaesel. It is a model VIG7E and was made in 1984. It has a strong, rich sound and has always been well cared for. It is a perfect instrument for a serious student or could serve as a travel instrument for a professional player. The instrument comes with a nice bow and case.
