Master maker Shu Mei Zhang, Beijing, China, was recently selected by the Amati Foundation to represent some of the world's best contemporary violinmakers. There were a total of (29) distinguished makers representing (8) different countries that were selected. This reference violin was completed in 1994 and modeled after Stradivari, with a nice reddish-brown antique finish. An excellent violin for the advancing student. An excellent violin labeled: "Arnold Voigt Geigenbauer Markneukirchen, Sachsen 1891" - Voigt was a pupil of Heinrich T. Heberlein (I). LOB: 362 mm. In excellent condition; top of tight to medium grain spruce; back is one-piece of lightly-flamed maple. Medium arching. All cracks have been professionally repaired. This violin has been professionally set-up by Daniel Brückner Kunstgeigen & Bogenbau, Reichshof, GERMANY. An excellent violin for the advancing students or pre-professional use. This is a beautiful Peral White Abalone Frog on a pernambuco bow. I personally feel that this is brazilwood bow, but some others tell me that it is pernambuco. The grip is done is snake skin. It is haired with unbleached Mongolian horsehair. It weight is 57.04g. The bow is octagonal and very straight. Please email me for pictures. I am asking $ 275.00
