I would like to start taking violin lessons... but, rather than renting a violin I would like to own my first violin. I would like an inexpensive violin... it is okay if it needs a few repairs...I would like it to come with a bow and possibly a case. My viola was made in 1736 by an apprentice luthier called C. Friedrich Meinel in the workshop of Jacob Steiner. Length 15 3/4, with a narrow neck an an enscribed scroll. Reddish brown varnish with very high arching. In fair shape for a 265 year old instrument. Total price with shaped case $7,500
