This violin should be in the hands of the excellent player who perhaps can't or won't spend thousands of dollars on a vintage instrument. I was going to use it for my backup instrument, but I would never play it, so better it is in the hands of someone who will. Very sweet and penetrating sound. The violin is labeled "Copy of Nicolaus Amati, Made in Germany" and is handsigned in pencil in the treble side F Hole. Email for pictures or more info. $325 firm

This violin was made in Austria in 1780. It was sold in 1941 by Lyons and Healy in Chicago. At that time it was Certified. This Violin is in very nice shape for being 222 years old. Excellent condition except for a small nick near the tailpiece that does not detract FROM it's value. A hard shell case, wood/hh bow, rosin, mute and extra bridge are included. New in 1980, and I'm the original owner. Nothing much else to add, other than it's a great violin at a good price. It retails for $899 new.
